Expertise: The ROCK! Drunken Monkey Kung-Fu &…Pie.
Product of a genetic experiment gone horribly wrong, I was put in a basket and floated down the river as a child, soaking up the sounds of Van Halen, Aerosmith, Kiss, Queen & “Muskrat Love” blaring from the vans and camaros parked along the rivers banks. Upon washing up on the shores of Athens Georgia to earn a degree, like trig, never to be used again, I was thrust into a whole new world of sights and sounds.

I started my career at Manifest in the late 90’s. I traveled a lot in between. I spent a brief time in L.A. and after the constant name-dropping by its citizens; I decided to move to the music capital of the Northwest, Seattle. Time passed. I got lonely. I decided to move back to South Carolina. One thing led to another and I came back to Manifest.

Music fan since birth. I moved into the area to study fine art at USC, luckily stumbled into the open arms of Manifest. I enjoy humor, sushi, and being overly critical over every graphic image ever made.

Expertise: 80’s thrash/black/death metal, 90’s black/death metal, ambient/dark wave, 90’s & 00’s hardcore/crustcore punk
My parents believed very strongly in music as entertainment and a teaching tool. I grew up surrounded by art in general but music plays a huge role in my memories as a child. Whether it was listening to the Eagles and the Beach Boys at the beach with my family or listening to jazz with my parents in the living room. So music has been with me since I was young. I took piano lessens for five years and moved onto guitar. I also learned how to play some banjo and harmonica. It seems like I enjoyed whatever made a racket. That’s still true to this day.

With the warm hold of music around all of us, let me introduce myself and tell you a little about my style. I have been expanding my musical tastes as far as possible over the past few years, experiencing as many live performances as possible in the short time I’ve been free to move about the states in search of talent. In only a matter of years I have gained a much deeper expertise in the fields of jam rock, ska, punk, jazz, and to a lesser extent classical, blues and folk. Those who know me will expect to see me in the middle of any good skank pits in the Carolina’s ska scene, enjoying the togetherness brought about by the music. I’ve played several instruments, primarily the saxophone and clarinet families for years, which I feel has greatly expanded the way I listen to and enjoy music. As I age, my musical tastes are becoming much more expansive, recently due largely to the diverse tastes found in the Manifest staff. I moved to Columbia, SC as a student at the charming University of South Carolina, and couldn’t see myself anywhere else. Outside of music, my interests lie primarily in cycling and enjoying the company of close friends. These are all reasons leading to my stay with the Manifest community, and so far, so good.

Expertise: Almost-mainstream Rock and a little Punk
I’m a student at USC and have decided that South Carolina is the superior state when compared with North Carolina (I lived 6 in SC and the rest in NC). I might as well throw in a “Go Cocks!” while we’re on the subject. Came across the Manifest job opening while buying myself a couple birthday CDs and decided it was a much better job than the valet I was doing. I spent 7 years playing the trumpet in middle and high school band. Dropped that (dumb decision) when I came to college, but still prefer music to any other genre of entertainment. There are few things in life better than driving around at night with the windows down and blasting some good music.

I’ve been around music my entire life. I grew up listening to everything from oldies, and country, to classic rock and r&b. Of course I went through my musical instrument stages, attempted piano for a few months, along with guitar. Needless to say, to this day I cannot play either. I came across this amazing Manifest job through a friend and it’s been true love ever since.

Hello. My full name is William Carroll Langston. My close friends mock my middle name on a full time basis.I’ve been playing music since I can remember and I’ll never stop. I love making music with people of all musical backgrounds. Just like James says, “Music is to be shared.” And shared it will be. Music is my comfort. It’s sort of like those beds you see on T.V. that melt around you when you lay down. You know the ones that are from NASA or something. Well, yea, music just sort of melts around me, and in me, and we sort of always dance together. It never leaves, instead melodies of all kinds impress into my head and music never leaves. The combinations of my love for music, as well as my love for playing music lead me here.
